Playoff-kiekkoa..
Viime kevään Stanley Cup-finaaleissa Derian Hatcher pelasi
polvi piikitettynä läpi koko finaalisarjan, pelaten vielä
toiset ja kolmannet jatkoajat viidennessä ja kuudennessa
pelissä.
Keväällä 1999 Dallas Starsilla oli finaalissa kahdeksan
eri pelaajaa, jotka tarvitsivat puudutuspiikkiä pystyäkseen
pelaamaan finaaleissa. Tuona keväänähän Stars voitti
Stanley Cupin.

-The Tragically Hip, kanadalainen superbändi; vuonna 1992
ilmestyneen CD:n "Fully Completely" laulussa "Fifty-Mission
Cap". Lauantaina tuli kuluneeksi 50 vuotta Barilkon maalista,
josta tämä kanadalainen legenda sai alkunsa.
Kevään 1951 finaalisarjassa kaikki viisi peliä ratkaistiin
jatkoajalla. Barilkon rystylaukauksella Montrealin
maalivahdin Gerry MacNeilin yli suoraan Howie Meekerin
syötöstä tekemä kuuluisa maali on näytetty TV:ssä moneen
kertaan viikonlopun aikana.
Kesällä 1951 Barilko katosi kalareissulla. Barilko pelasi
vain 299 NHL-ottelua voittaen neljä Stanley Cupia. Hurjin
huhu Barilkon katoamisesta 50-luvun alussa kertoi tämän
olleen Venäjällä opettamassa jääkiekkoa - mutta tämä ei
valitettavasti ollut totta.
